Benjamin R. Cowan

 

is an Assistant Professor at UCD’s School of Information & Communication Studies. His work is at the juncture between psychology and computer science, researching how design impacts user experience and user behaviour in collaborative interactions. He has published widely in internationally leading journals and conferences in the field of HCI, with a particular focus on user perceptions in speech interface interactions and emotions in social computing interactions. He is co-director and co-founder of Dublin’s Creative Technologies Network and a co-founder of the ACM SIGCHI Interaction Science (IxSci) Special Interest Group. He is a member of the British Psychological Society and a Professional Member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
