Victoria Bellotti

 


is a Research Fellow at The Palo Alto Research Center and Adjunct Professor in the Jack Baskin School of Computer Engineering at University of California Santa Cruz. She studies people to understand their practices, problems, and requirements for future technology, and designs and analyzes human-centered systems, focusing on user experience. Best known for her research on task and activity management, Dr. Bellotti has more recently been researching technology usage in the peer-to-peer economy and motivations for participation in both prosocial and self-serving exchanges. She is also co-leading an NSF-funded program to develop context- and activity-aware transaction recommendation systems for peer-to-peer marketplaces.
                                                                                              
She is co-author of 19 patents and is an author or co-author on over 60 papers and book chapters. In 2013 she was awarded membership of the ACM SIGCHI Academy for her contributions to the field of Human Computer Interaction.
