Jan Hense



is full professor for Higher Education Learning and Evaluation at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen (Germany). He holds a PhD in educational psychology with an emphasis in evaluation (2005) from  the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich (Germany), where he has been working as a researcher and lecturer at the psychology department of the since 2000. Jan Hense’s research interests include evaluation theory and research on evaluation, innovative teaching and learning methods, and technology based learning. As an evaluator and evaluation consultant he has been involved in many local, national and international evaluation projects. As lecturer and training provider he teaches courses on evaluation, program theory, research methods, and learning and instruction. He is an active member of the Swiss Austrian German Simulation and Gaming Association (SAGSAGA), the German Evaluation Association (DeGEval), and the American Evaluation Society (AEA). He has received the Outstanding Paper Award in
35th International Simulation and Gaming Association Conference (ISAGA 2004), Munich, Germany, and the Best Paper Award in IADIS International Conference on Cognition and Exploratory Learning in the Digital Age (CELDA 2012), Madrid, Spain.
