Beth Filar Williams

is currently Head of the new Library Experience and Access Department at Oregon State University. Her role is studying user’s experience in both physical and virtual realms, by collaborating across library departments and the campus  to determine gaps and needs and then to implement, eliminate, or change new services, spaces or resources.  Her current research interest lie in user experience or UX, usability testing, technology enhanced learning, ethnographic studies, participatory design, space design, and sustainability/green librarianship. Before 2015, Beth was Coordinator of Library Services for Distance Learning at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for almost 7 years, including overseeing a new Digital Media Commons space and serving as a Technology Faculty Fellow in the Teaching and Learning Commons on campus. She is also very interested in global and international collaborations and internship. She graduated with an Masters of Library Science from the University of Maryland in 2007 and earned a BA in Geography from  the Johns Hopkins University.
