Justyna Borucka

 

Ph.D., Eng. Arch; Dipl Ing.(FH)), is an architect and urban planner, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Gdansk University of Technology, Poland and the Vice-Dean for Development of the Faculty of Architecture. She is also a coordinator of International Cooperation at the Faculty of Architecture GUT and board member of Polish Architects Association (SARP o.Wybrzeze). She has been a visiting scholar at many European universities, recently visiting professor at Sapienza University of Rome (2016). She was visiting expert to European Workshops on: Art and Architecture (Gazi University), Waterfront Urban Design (Lusófona University Lisbon) and many others. Since 2016 she has been a member of the Research Committee by the EAAE. Her research interests include: theory of architecture and strategies for urban renewal with the special impact of interdisciplinary relationships in contemporary architecture and urbanism based on relationships of architecture and other arts, design as an important stimulators in social, cultural, architectural and urban regeneration strategies, architectural education and gender studies. She has served on a number of policy advisory boards/working groups related to regeneration public spaces and preservation cultural and natural heritage in the context of XXI century development. Author and co-author of the following international projects: Art and Science – Synergy of Art and Technology in Urban Spaces (2011), Sensing the City – Designing Urban Experience (2009-2012), Urban Walk Architecture Talk within People’s Smart Sculpture (2016-2017). She has also been collaborating with several cultural institutions (among others: Gdansk City Gallery)contributing as a consultant and scientific advisor for projects related to the transformation of public spaces and regeneration of urban structure through public art and the participation of the inhabitants.
